The Founder’s Story

I know what it’s like to stand on the other side of an immigration decision.
When I migrated to Australia, I went through the same experience that millions of people go through every year. The excitement of a new chapter, followed quickly by the reality of navigating a system that feels designed to confuse you. Visa subclasses, points tests, skills assessments, document requirements – the complexity is staggering. And when you realise you need professional help, a whole new set of problems begins.
I didn’t know where to find a trustworthy agent. I couldn’t compare options in any meaningful way. I had no idea what a reasonable fee looked like.
That experience stayed with me.
With a background spanning both technology and my own immigration journey exposing me to the industry, I kept seeing the same gap from both sides. Migrants struggling to find and evaluate agents. Agents spending a fortune on ads just to reach the people who needed them. A massive, high-stakes industry with no platform bringing the two sides together in a transparent, trustworthy way.
Every other professional service category has been transformed by marketplaces — healthcare, legal, trades, hospitality. Immigration hasn’t. I built Emigration Guru to be the platform I wished I had when I was going through my own journey – and the platform that millions of future migrants deserve.
